Friday nights spent alone are not shameful, right? They are beautiful nights, a wonderful excuse for time to get in touch with yourself. That’s definitely not shameful. No way, me time is very important. After the week that I had, a week work of hell, "me time" is priority!!!. Alone, with yourself, my computer, Captain & Diet, bath, TV, frozen pizza, magazines. Okay, so I’m not really gonna take a bath, but you get the picture. It’s about getting back to me, whatever that may mean? This week was about them…About my job, my obligations, my laundry, going to the gym. But Friday night…This time, it’s for me!
Even though I am very much a social person, there are times that actually prefer being here, alone. No, I wouldn't turn down plans, concrete plans and events are not missed. I am not in the habit of turning down invites. I'm not that pretentious or snooty! And as most of you know I’m also a big (very big) fan of the "lets get a drink after work" idea, but that wasn’t even an option this week! I am content with the fact that I have a flat-screen, comfy clothes, alcohol, my laptop and a couch to go home to.
And that is so what this Friday night is all about. That and "Chick Flicks". These are tasks I can conquer, and if I don't…Who the hell cares? It may not even mean getting to bed early; I could easily be 1 am before the sheets are turned down.
Sometimes, just being at home enjoying the peace usually feels pretty flippin' good. Damn if there is shame in that
